Method of Translating

>>>>> WEEK 01-02 <<<<<

I chose one image from a Japanese photographer called Yoshiyuki Okuyama.
I first saw it on his Instagram and his words beneath attracted me as well. About the Japanese brush festival.

The whole set of photos.

Then, I did research about this festival. It starts with a calligraphy performance, a giant brush, creates meaningful expressions and shows everyone. Catch lucky mochi from the boat.

I started by ignoring the cultural background of this image. Played with the message from children’s postures and facial expressions.

Next, I mimicked their facial expressions thought of consumerism mania from it.

After that, I back to the festival, the whole set of photos was translated into English, link to the Zhi Seal.

>>>>> WEEK 03 <<<<<

This image is about gaining luck and blessing. What if I Share blessings and luck with others which reminds me of lucky charms.

I Printed it and shared it on social media.
